Fantasy RPG in the Dragon Age series

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is a premium role-playing game from BioWare and Electronic Arts, serving as the fourth main title in the long-running fantasy franchise, Dragon Age. It’s set on Thedas, now facing a new threat after the civil unrest tackled in its predecessor Dragon Age: Inquisition. Expect next-generation graphics and a larger map with more locations than its predecessors.

The highly anticipated sequel to Inquisition

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf has been rumored to be stuck in development hell. Efforts toward this next-gen RPG started in 2015, a year after the release of Inquisition. Several factors have contributed to its delays, including staff turnover and major design overhauls. However, the developers have finally released a quick teaser that promises a full game reveal sometime in 2024, ensuring the future release of the much-anticipated sequel.

As revealed, Dreadwolf is also set in the fictional continent of Thedas, the only continent explored in the massive Dragon Age world. While the premise remains a closely guarded secret at the time of the teaser reveal, certain maps showcase the game’s promising landscape. Regions such as Rivain and Antiva tease different biomes, landscapes, and possibly inhabitants that will contribute to the gameplay experience.

A promising return to form for the franchise

Fans of the Dragon Age series will be rewarded once Dragon Age: Dreadwolf finally hits the shelves. The extended development period has allowed the people behind the game to update it with the existing gaming industry standards, such as bigger maps and improved graphics quality. However, they’ll have to wait a little longer.
